THA Architects:Thomas A. House Understands the Seacoast
THA Architects LLCNot only did he grow up in the area, he has spent more than 26 years in the industry assisting his clients up and down the eastern seaboard from Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York and into the New England States of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. House is the founding Principal of the full service architectural firm, THA Architects, LLC, providing design and planning services located in Stratham, NH.

Working with clients to design and plan projects, including commercial and residential, new construction and rehabilitation, House and his highly trained and motivated staff have seen first-hand what is possible with forward-looking, innovative, client-responsive design solutions.

House also understands that someone’s rent or mortgage is the largest portion of their monthly budget. “Over the years some of us who have grown up and worked in the greater seacoast area may find ourselves living in a distant community and away from our family, friends and workplace because of the high cost of rents or mortgages within the cities we work,” he said. “Many folks believe that workforce housing is low income housing, when in fact workforce housing is simply affordable housing, affordable housing for our teachers, police officers, firefighters, architects and others.”

Thomas A. HouseHouse said that is why he supports the Workforce Housing Coalition, where he is on the Board of Directors and has contributed to the Workforce Housing Coalition of the Greater Seacoast design Charrettes and the fundraising committee.

“As architects involved in the built environment and the design of numerous housing communities, THA Architects, understands the impact of high rent and mortgage payments on our workforce,” he said. “I support the Workforce Housing Coalition, because we share similar goals, one of which is to inform and educate municipalities, developers and the community at large."

In fact, House said, the Stratham-based THA Architects has the expertise in architecture, planning and interior design for workforce housing and multi-family housing, including apartment buildings and condominiums and live/work artists’ lofts, as well as mixed-use developments, adaptive re-use of existing mill buildings, senior housing projects for CCRC’s, assisted living facilities, Alzheimer special care units, nursing facilities and active adult 50+ communities.

House has contributed to the design and/or the production of several affordable housing developments. A partial listing includes Legacy Park in Wakefield, Mass.; Archstone Stamford in Stamford, Conn.; Archstone Methuen in Methuen, Mass.; Archstone Watertown in Watertown, Mass. and The Metro @ Wilmington Station in Wilmington, Mass. He also has been involved in the PlanNH Charettes in Manchester, Winchester, Lee, Exeter and Stratham.

“Our mission is to achieve design excellence, understanding each client’s specific aspirations and needs and positively impact our client’s business while reflecting their values, goals and work methods,” he said. “Our goal is to do all this while providing a stimulating and rewarding work environment that encourages the professional growth and development of individuals throughout the firm.”

Thank you Thomas A. House of THA Architects, LLC for supporting the Workforce Housing Coalition!
